Health Care and Social Security

The concept of a social security net for the health and safety of individuals and society is emotionally appealing although violates many precepts of the Libertarian Party.

It would be deceptive of me to make any extreme stances of eliminating medicare, medicaid, unemployment, or any other government funded social security. For starters, I don’t have a solution about how to replace those institutions with a snap of my finger, nor would I have the power, if elected.

I do believe that a slow roll back of the State will benefit these securities in the long run. Reducing the State’s influence will increase private and non-profit influences and a free market reduces the opportunity for monopolized corruption.

Slogans for increasing medicare funding will get votes, but simply throwing money at problems does not fix them. Clearly, otherwise this would not be an issue every election cycle.
